Documenting the lives of micro fauna, insects and other small animals or tiny plants, portrayed in an artistic way and making them appear larger than life.

Wonders of Plants

This category will showcase plants (wild or non-cultivated plants) in all their diverse forms

Animal Kingdom

Any photographs of wild birds, mammals, reptiles, amphibians, fish, etc., will fall under this category.

Conservation Photography

Photographs of any conservation issue, with Indian wildlife or wild habitats/landscapes in focus, will be included here.

Open to all students, staff and faculty of all campuses, constituent institutes and research centres of Symbiosis International (Deemed University).

• Photos can be clicked either on DSLR cameras or Mobile Phones
• Photos can be captured inside our campuses (every place on campus, like academic blocks, residential areas, hostels, guesthouses, grounds, etc.), and any outdoors and natural spaces that are legally accessible
• Photos of pets or those from captivity, zoos, or shelters should be strictly avoided. Photos of stray cats and dogs are not allowed
• Photographs of eggs, birds in nests of any kind will not be considered for submission
• A participant can submit a maximum of four photographs in total. They may choose the categories according to their interest. Participants can choose their own category and submit up to four images, or they can choose to submit one image in all categories or any number of images up to four in any categories of their choice
• All submitted photographs must be original and should not be altered in any way, and should have been taken by the participant
• Any copyright issues or plagiarism or AI-generated images or those violating the guidelines will result in disqualification
• Minimum HD quality (1920 x 1080 pixels or higher)
• File format: JPEG or JPG
• Orientation: Horizontal or Vertical
• All photos should be accompanied by a title (caption for the photograph) (20 words max.)
• Entries will be judged the jury panel formed by SCCCS and SSVAP
• Your submitted photographs may be showcased on our social media channels or published through other mediums at any point of time, with full credit given to you, the photographer

Announcement Date: 1st October 2025

All winning entries will be awarded e-certificates. The best photographs in each of the 4 themes (Micro World, Wonders of Plants, Animal Kingdom, Conservation Photography) among the 3 categories (students, staff and faculty) will receive a nature-based book along with e-certificates as the prize. In addition to this, the ‘Photo of the Year’ will also be announced from among all categories. Winners from Pune will be invited for a Prize Distribution Ceremony at the SIU Lavale Campus and winners from outside Pune will be sent their prizes by courier. All winners will be contacted via email.
